Bulgaria is a country located in south-eastern Europe, bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and North Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria.
The country has a population of around 7 million people and has a diverse ethnic makeup, with Bulgarians comprising the largest group followed by Turks and Roma. Bulgarian is the official language, and the majority of the population follows Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Bulgaria has a rich cultural and historical heritage, with numerous ancient monuments and architectural landmarks, including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Rila Monastery, Boyana Church, and the ancient city of Nessebar. The country is also known for its beautiful natural scenery, such as the Rila and Pirin mountains and the Black Sea coastline.
The economy of Bulgaria is primarily driven by the service sector, which includes tourism, IT, and finance. The country has a low cost of living and has become a popular destination for digital nomads and expats. Bulgaria is also a member of the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations.
TEMPORARY RESIDENCE
Foreign persons who are otherwise entitled to operate a business in their home country or abroad may establish a trade representative office of their foreign company in Bulgaria. Registering a trade representative office in Bulgaria, you may apply for a long-term D visa and Bulgarian residence permit.
BENEFITS OF TEMPORARY BULGARIAN RESIDENCE
• You receive a Bulgarian ID card for foreigners that allows multiple entries and stay in Bulgaria
• Holders of a Bulgarian residence permit can stay legally in Romania, Croatia, and Cyprus for 90 days in any 180 days period visa-free
• You may renew your Bulgarian residency card for up to 5 years
• Holding a temporary residence permit for 5 years, you are eligible to apply for
a Bulgarian permanent residence permit
• Foreign nationals who hold Bulgarian permanent residence and reside in Bulgaria for
183 days annually in any 60 months period can apply for Bulgarian citizenship by
naturalization
• You enjoy a relaxed visa application process among Schengen Area countries
• You may apply for family reunification in Bulgaria.
A Bulgarian temporary residence permit is valid for either 6 or 12 months, and it can be renewed for a period of up to 5 years. If you are not eligible for a Bulgarian permanent residence you still can renew your temporary residence.
TYPES OF VISAS IN BULGARIA

There are three types of Bulgarian visas for foreign citizens:
WORK PERMIT
A Bulgarian work permit is valid for up to one year, after which it can be renewed as long as the conditions of employment have not changed. After obtaining a work permit, the employee will need to apply for a Type D visa at the Bulgarian embassy or consulate in their country.

Work Visa

A work visa is issued with the support of the inviting party, which is engaged in obtaining an official work permit.
Categories of visa permits:

Short-term visas allow you to stay in the country for 3 months. They are issued mainly for seasonal work

Multiple visas, allow you to live and work for ninety days every six months

National D with the right of residence for one to two years, with the possibility of an extension of up to 5 years.
Documents are reviewed within 3-7 days, but the review period may be extended.
BUSINESS VISA

TOURIST VISA
Bulgaria is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, ski resorts, rich history, and cultural heritage.
